Beatriz Armendáriz is a Senior Lecturer in the Economics Department at University College London, on leave from the Economics Department at Harvard University. She is affiliated to the Centre for European Research in Microfinance (CERMi), the Harvard David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, and the UCL Institute of the Americas.
She has written extensively in refereed journals, co-authored (with Jonathan Morduch) the first and second edition of “The Economics of Microfinance”, and has recently co-edited “The Handbook of Microfinance” (with Marc Labie).
Grameen Trust Chiapas is a microfinance institution in southern Mexico that was founded by Beatriz. She is also a Board member of Grameen Crédit Agricole Microfinance Foundation, a member of the Scientific Committee of YouthSave, and is an adviser to WaterLex.
